Install flyscreen windows
If you are getting a new fly screen entirely, an installer will measure the width and height of your window, and then come out to install the screen at your home. However, you may want them to re-mesh an existing screen, in which case they will usually quote for the job and then complete the re-meshing on-site. While different-sized windows require different steps for fly screen installations, your tradie will generally remove the frame, lay the new fly screen mesh onto it, and then lock it into place before reinstalling the window frame.
Install flyscreen doors
Installing a fly screen door follows a similar process to fly screen window installations, although they may take longer as the frame and amount of mesh required are larger. You can expect your installer to remove the door frame initially and then lay it flat before rolling out your chosen fly screen mesh. The mesh is then secured around the door frame’s edges, trimmed and then the frame re-fitted. Whether it’s a window or door you are getting installed, there are various mesh options – from low-cost fibreglass right through to aluminium mesh and even one-way mesh which is great for privacy.

So having a flyscreen permanently installed on your windows, or having to constantly open and shut your fly screen door even during winter can be a hassle. That’s why many fly screen installers have the option of retractable fly screens.
