All electrical work in Australia must be carried out by a qualified electrician and there are certain certificates that need to be completed before and after electrical work is carried out.

Failure to comply with government policy risks heavy fines. For example, a Certificate of Electrical Compliance is required for every job done by an electrician and failing to submit one may lead to a fine of up to $5000 or up to $550,000 if the work doesn’t meet safety standards.
