What is a Dilapidation Report?

A dilapidation report is an extremely comprehensive report that is carried out on a building before work is done on a nearby structure. The report takes note of the condition of the building before the work is done, so that if any damage to the building occurs, the building owner can prove that it occurred as a result of the construction carried out. The building owner gets a copy of the report as well as the person doing construction nearby to the building. That way, there are no disputes about any damage that may occur.
