If you hire a demolition contractor with salvage rights, this means they can salvage or recycle the building materials from your property and sell them. Whatever they get for these materials is often then deducted from the cost of your demolition job. Items they could recycle or salvage include anything - like bricks, doors, windows as well as kitchen and bathroom fittings. This recycling focused approach is becoming more common as it keeps valuable building materials out of landfill - which is a win-win.

More demolition contractors are taking a recycling focused approach when it comes to salvaging building materials. There is a move in the industry to keep valuable materials out of landfill, which is wasteful and has a long term impact on the environment. Demolition contractors who work on a ‘with salvage rights’ basis will often recycle and sell the items they salvage from your property, and discount from your overall cost.
