We are proud of our expert, trusted tradies here at hipages. We have a thorough screening process to ensure each tradie meets our high standards before they join our platform.
How do we screen our tradies?
- We speak with all tradies before they join.
- Tradies make a pledge to act with the utmost professionalism.
- Daily ABN checks against the Australian Business Register.
- Regular insolvency checks through CreditorWatch. This looks for any external administration, registered defaults, court actions or insolvency, deregistration, strike offs, or winding up documents that have been lodged.
- Monitoring of formal publications and social media for any findings related to our tradies.
- Mediation process by our Trust & Quality team for any negative feedback.
If we find that a business has acted inappropriately, we would take steps to remove them from our platform and our systems would prevent them signing up again.
* Where a trade licence is mandatory or has been supplied for the purpose of completing relevant jobs in the tradie's nominated state or territory.
Licence Checks
hipages verifies any required licences when tradies join our platform. However, licences can expire/become invalid for many reasons. With this in mind, we recommend that customers hiring a tradie inspect the tradie’s licence and ensure it is current, covers the business hired and is appropriate for the value and type of work being completed.
Be mindful that some tradies may have multiple employees and subcontractors. It’s important that you check the licence of all tradies who carry out work on your job.
Recommendations
We encourage all our customers to give feedback to their tradie - not only does it help tradies improve their service, it helps other customers choose the best tradie for their job! Our feedback system ensures that tradies are rewarded for good work and held accountable for any problems.
Verified Recommendations
Recommendations with the Verified icon have been verified by hipages staff. Our Trust & Quality Team review feedback and the customer is called when clarification is needed. If we see any negative feedback we work with both the tradie and customer to resolve any hiccups.
Hired Recommendations
Recommendations with the Hired icon are from jobs which were facilitated through the hipages platform and job has been confirmed as hired. Customers can leave feedback for a tradie even if they did not end up hiring them for the job as they may want to give feedback that the tradie gave great service when providing a quote.
External Recommendations
Tradies are able to request references from customers that they've worked with for jobs done externally from hipages. Once published, they are marked as "External recommendation". These do not count towards their rating.
Star ratings
Customers are invited to complete our feedback questionnaire for each job, and can choose whether this feedback is shared with the tradie. The star rating is based on the percentage of positive feedback for a tradie. It's only based on feedback where the tradie has been confirmed as "hired" to do the job so you can be confident it's genuine feedback from customers of this business.
